In addition to ongoing research, © Geranium 365 aims to celebrate and showcase existing and new artworks created in the post-millennium era that explore Geraniums and Pelargoniums within social and cultural contexts.
We are especially keen to invite submissions that reflect the rich tapestry of Farming families, Agriculture, Horticultural and Gardening settings worldwide.
*Geraniums in Art: Submission Guidelines for Geranium 365*
Any artist aged 18 or over may enter from anywhere in the world. Geraniums in Art is particularly interested in receiving submissions from self-taught artists (adults) who do not hold formal academic qualifications in Art, along with those of you who have undertaken formal academic study.
We welcome artwork from all artists, provided that you are either the original creator of the work or are authorized by the artist, a gallery, an agent, or the estate of a deceased artist to submit the work on their behalf.
Submissions to Geranium 365 are subject to acceptance or decline at the discretion of Geraniums in Art. By submitting a work, you confirm that you or the artist hold all intellectual property rights to the work and that you or the artist have obtained any necessary third-party permissions contained in the submission. We accept a variety of media, including paintings, drawings, original fine art prints, photographs, images or designs for textiles, and ceramics, with a particular emphasis on drawings.
To have your work considered for inclusion in Geranium 365, please email a high-resolution JPEG image (between 2MB and 5MB maximum) as an attachment to geraniumsinart@outlook.com.
Entries must be original works of art. Original prints, such as etchings, lithographs, screen prints, or other artist-created printmaking techniques, are admissible. Reproductions or copies of original artworks, including giclée prints or digital reproductions of paintings, drawings, or other media, are prohibited.
Images must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum size of 1000 x 1000 pixels (both height and width), for example, 1800 x 1200 pixels.
- Resolution of 300 dpi.
- Maximum file size of 5 MB per image.
- Accepted file formats: JPEG, JPG, or PNG.
- Images should be in sharp focus.
- Use a plain, clean, or neutral background.
- Ensure the image is well-lit, with professional lighting or natural daylight.
- Only capture the artwork; please exclude frames, glass, and other objects.
- You may submit up to three images of the artwork for consideration.
Any selected artworks displayed will feature a watermark with the website domain www.geraniumsart.co.uk to ensure protection online. Artwork images not selected for Geranium 365 are permanently deleted and not stored in any retrievable format.
Selected works may be utilized online or in print, with appropriate credit given to the original creator.
We are particularly eager to celebrate and promote contemporary artworks that delve into themes related to Geraniums and Pelargoniums within various social and cultural contexts.
We invite submissions that include Geraniums and Pelargoniums in settings that reflect the experiences of Farming families, Agricultural environments, and Horticultural practices from around the globe.
You may wish to consider showcasing your local centre of 'Floriculture', a remarkable field dedicated to producing plants that yield beautiful flowers and foliage for our enjoyment. This thriving branch of horticulture and agriculture flourishes globally.
Through the years, innovative production techniques have been crafted for countless plant species in the floral industry, deepening our appreciation of plant biology. The artistry of plant breeding and selection has birthed tens of thousands of new varieties, enriching our lives in extraordinary ways. But what of the Geraniaceae Family? How can you depict them in imaginative ways?
Where an artwork is selected, Robin will request additional Artist Information. In advance of this, the artist may wish to include an Artist Statement about the artwork - Maximum 300 words. Your statement on your idea, influence, context, and aims of the work.
This call for artists who have created new work since 2000 began on May 1st, 2025, and currently has no closing date to allow ample time for artists to contemplate new projects and review their archives.
Progress is due for review in four months, and the public promotion of this callout will begin in mid-May and again towards late May, 2025.
